ROLE
Game Designer & Developer
28 Mar - 28 Apr 2021 (5 Weeks)
BACKGROUND
This is an Assignment Project for one of my module in Immersive Media. I collaborated with my classmate Celest to create a 3D virtual world that contains NPCs and objects that users can interact with and achieve a meaningful result.
As this is a collaborative project, we must use learn to use Git to properly manage our project.
IDEATION
Inspired by Toy Story background we decided to make a game similar to that story.
Using Google document, we documented our ideas and quest idea for the player to progress

Building the environment
Before we could start on our coding, we had to build our game environment. After we listed out what are some of the models, effects, 2d elements we need, we started to download, edit and bring them to the unity project to work on them. But using Git, we ran to some problems. we noticed that we cannot work on the same scene otherwise our changes would be either missing or corrupted.
How we solve the issue
We decided that we would take turns to work on the unity project and note down the changes we made. The Pro and cons of this method would be the down time it brought. Luckily for me, I can work in the morning and my partner Celest can work on the night. So, we did not have many clashes afterwards. However, It was tedious and it took longer period of time for us to complete the project .

Final Outcome
This is a video walkthrough of our game
